Australia Week Four Recap

Jervis Bay

To get out of the city for a weekend Clare, her boyfriend Geoff, and I drove to the small beach town of Jervis Bay and spent the weekend in an Airbnb. We went stand-up paddle boarding, swam in the ocean, and walked around the neighborhood. The water in Jervis Bay was so clear and blue. We were supposed to go dolphin watching one morning, but our boat actually broke down 5 minutes into the tour and we had to be taken back to shore by another rescue boat lol.

I love how Australia has these oceanside pools everywhere.

Taronga Zoo

I did a separate post about my day at the zoo which you can read by clicking -> HERE. Below are a few animal highlights.

Mosman

The second week I was in town I went to stay with Clare’s sister and her fiancee Chris for a few nights in a different neighborhood called Mosman. There are some really nice walks along the water here. I recommend the walk around Cremorne Point and Kurraba Point for some great views of the expensive homes around the harbour.

Sydney Theater Company

Clare planned us a night out at the Sydney Theater Company. We saw the play Fences. A 1985 play written by American playwright August Wilson. It’s the story of a black family living in 1950s Pittsburgh. It was so good, but really emotional and intense.

I rode the ferry over from Mosman to downtown.
The sky was a beautiful shade of pink at sunset.

Veggie calzone from Rosso Cavallino
Halloumi Stack from Avenue Road Cafe. Halloumi, mushrooms, spinach, avocado over toast.
