I was unaware of this, but Japan has over 100 different varieties of cherry blossom trees. Some are wild to the forests of Japan, but most have been cultivated for decorative use in parks and gardens around the country.
I started to notice there were different varieties when I was taking close-up photos of the flowers. Most trees produce blossoms that are light pink to white in color. But I read that some can even produce yellow to green blossoms as well.
I wanted to do a dedicated post to some of the beautiful spring flowers I saw while in Japan, cherry blossoms and beyond. So here are some of my favorite pictures that I took.
