About Me

Hello! My name is Jessica. I’m a 30-year-old physician assistant (PA) living in North Carolina. I work full-time as a PA and love to travel whenver I get the chance. Anything from random day trips to extended backpacking trips count me in! In the past two years, I’ve been lucky enough to backpack Europe, hike Machu Picchu, and explore the Sahara desert in Morocco.

I started this blog back in the fall of 2017 as a personal travel diary. I really enjoy photography and this website provides me a creative outlet to display my photos for friends, family, and really anyone else who enjoys traveling.

I suffered a stroke back in August of 2018. I still don’t have a clear answer as to why this happened to me. Was it the result of a migraine headache or some rare blood clot that formed on my heart valve? I’ve come to accept that I’ll never know for sure, but what I do know is that I’ve made a full recovery and have no residual deficits! I’m so grateful for this because working in medicine I’m fully aware that other people are not always as fortunate. I’m back to work, and I’ll never take the basics like speaking, swallowing, and writing my name for granted again. You can read more about that here…

So where am I off to next? I’m not sure. I’m still in the process of reaccumulating vacation days because my entire bank got wiped clean after my stroke. However, Australia, Japan, and Egypt/Israel are at the top of my list!
